Yusuke Ishii has an eclectic career as a musician. He studied first composition in Kunitachi College of Music.After having graduated, he entered Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique de Paris where he studied écriture (music theory and writing) with Yves Henry and Thierry Escaich, and obtained the diploma DFS of Music Theory and Writing in 2006 as well as the diploma DFS of vocal accompaniment in the classe of Anne le Bozec in 2010.
He also studied the piano with Hortense Cartier-Bresson and Marie-Paule Siruguet at the Conservatory of Boulogne-Billancourt where he obtained the 1st prize of piano, and attended the lessons of Hermann Kretzschmar, Lucas Vis, Vinko Globokar, Silva Costanzo and Marie-Françoise Bucquet. He participated also in Centre Acanthes (Metz) and International Ensemble Modern Academy (Innsbruck) in 2009. In the year 2010-2011, he is pianist of the International Academy of the Ensemble Modern (IEMA) in Frankfurt as a scholar of Federal Cultural Foundation and the Cultural Foundation of FrankfurtRheinMain and obtained the Diploma of Master in 2012.

Contemporary classical music is his special interest. In this field, he collaborated with many composers like Yumiko Yokoi, Alain Louvier, Matthias Pintscher, Mark André, Martin Matalon, Gérard Pesson, José Manuel López López, Jacques Lenot and others. He won the 2nd Prize at the 14th Xavier Montsalvatge International Competition of contemporary music for piano in Girona (Spain), and at the 8th Orléans International Piano Concours. (France), he won the Special Prize Nadia Boulanger in 2008 and the Specail Prize André Jolivet in 2010 which gave him a chance to give a concert for the tribut to the composer André Jolivet at Espace Philomuses in Paris.Since 2010 he focus espcially the works for piano and electronics. He also devotes for the re-performance of the important contemporary works in France which are never replayed since the premiere. Especially his recent re-performances of „Ciel Ouvert“ of Dominique Troncin or „Second Piano Sonata“ of Jacques Lenot were unanimously appreciated.

Yusuke Ishii already gave a number of recitals and chamber music concerts in Europe(France, Italy, Spain, Germany. Austria) as well as other countries. He also played in important festivals of contemporary music such as Festival Musica in Strasbourg, Darmstadt, Cresc…biennale in Frankfurt and so on. In 2012 he recorded already two discs; first disc dedicated for the works for piano of André Jolivet and Edgard Varèse by the Japanese label ALM RECORDS with the grant of TY Limited Co., and the second disc for the works of André Jolivet and Jacques Lenot by the French label Lyrinx which is supported by SACEM (Association of Artists, Composers and Editors of Music pour artists‘ rights in France) will be released in 2013.
